$20,000 Raised for Kilcullen Project

KILCULLENEUGENE, Ore. — The final tally is in for this weekend’s fundraisers in honor of fallen Eugene Police Officer Chris Kilcullen. They brought in $20,000.

Organizers took a chance by adding a classic car cruise on Saturday.

Because the scholarship is fully funded, this money will go to four nonprofits that hold special meaning to the Kilcullens.

Organizers say they’ll split the donations. One piece of the pie will go to the Children’s Miracle Network, specifically the NICU at Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.

“That is something that was particularly important to me and Chris because it involves kids. Four of my seven kids were all brought up for a short period of time in their lives in the NICU, and without them they wouldn’t be here today,” said Officer Brian Antone, Springfield Police Department.

Organizers say they’re in utter amazement to see that many people coming out for a great cause. They hope to have both events next year.
