EUGENE, Ore. — Local families had the chance to become wildlife rescuers at the Cascades Raptor Center in Eugene on Sunday.
The center hosted the third 2012 Family Nature Discover Day of the year.
Kids received a report of an injured stuffed animal that was hurt in the woods. The kids would then rescue the animal and bring it back to the hospital to nurse it back to health. Employees say kids really get into it.
“There was one time a little girl brought her own stuffed animal in on a stretcher. They love to put the doctor outfit out and the masks, and they love the gloves. They really do have fun, ” said Louise Shimmel, Cascades Raptor Center Executive Director.
The fourth Family Nature Discovery Day will be held on August 26.
