2013 Starting Off Dry

video preview image

METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:

With January can come all sorts of wild weather in Western Oregon, but this year, 2013 will start off fairly quiet.

A ridge of high pressure will keep any storms from moving through the area Tuesday and Wednesday. This will keep us dry and partly sunny, but this time of year clear nights also mean cold nights and likely fog. Temperatures will fall to the upper 20s in the valley Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights and we’ll have to burn through the fog layer before we see any sun.

A storm is lined up to move in Thursday, but it’s not very large and it doesn’t look to hold together very well. So a few showers and slightly warmer temperatures will be all we see.

It’ll be back to dry weather Friday and likely most of Saturday.

Happy New Year!
