EUGENE, Ore. — The Lane Events Center in Eugene was full of life on Saturday as thousands gathered for the Oregon Asian Celebration.

It’s the year of the horse, which is the theme of this year’s Oregon Asian Celebration. It’s the 29th annual and people say they’ve enjoyed the variety of entertainment that’s been offered.

From the different performances to wide selection of food, people here say this celebration offers a lot of unique things.

Crystal Gerhart says she’s been going to the celebration for nearly 20 years and it was here where she met the love of her life.

“We’ve had the opportunity to have the asian celebration as a part of our lives since 1995. We met here. He was part of the Bonsai tree and then we’ve kind of come every year since. We’re kind of huge into the Japanese culture,” said Gerhart, a Eugene resident.

Her husband and two children are also performers at the celebration.

Doors open Sunday at 10 a.m. for the final day.
