EUGENE, Ore. — The Emerald City Roller Girls are teaming up with men’s teams in Lane County and playing in their first co-ed competition.
Proceeds from the event will also go towards helping Womenspace, a local women’s shelter.
Players say there’s a lot more to the game than people think.
“If you’ve never seen roller derby you can expect some really fast, dynamic, game play, a lot of strategy,” said roller derby player Coop de Grace.
The Emerald City Roller Girls holds their competitions at the Lane Events Center.
