40 Bikes Stolen from 4J School District

EUGENE, Ore. — Bicycle safety education has suffered a major setback in Eugene after 40 bikes were stolen from Prairie Mountain School.

The bikes were in a large, white, unlicensed cargo trailer that was parked behind the school on Royal Avenue. That trailer was last seen on Saturday around noon.

The fleet of bikes belonged to the 4J School District and they were intended to help kids learn about bike safety.

The loss is valued at about $32,000.
