44 Pounds Seized in Pot Bust

MEDFORD, Ore. — Oregon State Police say a trooper pulled over a vehicle with Washington plates for speeding, and found 44 pounds of marijuana in the car.

The stop occurred on I-5 just north of Medford.

The trooper reportedly found three large garbage bags containing individually sealed packages of marijuana.

The driver, 39-year-old Jessie Olivia Tear, and the passenger, 44-year-old Patrick James Haenelt III, both from Seattle, were taken to jail on distribution charges.

The estimated value of the pot was $80,000.
