COBURG, Ore. — The 45th Annual Golden Years Festival kicks off on Friday.
Volunteers have spent the last week trying to pull everything together. On Thursday, folks set up the stage in the beer garden.
The festival is a tradition that residents hold dear and organizers say it’s a true community event.
“Coburg Golden Years is more than just the local community,” says Tanna Coon, the beer garden manager. “We get help from the City of Eugene, Harrisburg, all around. We’ve got sponsors that come in. People love coming to this event.”
This year’s festival will honor a local man who lost his life in a drunk driving accident. Oregon Taxi has partnered with the event, donating its services to prevent such a loss from happening again.
