Library’s Statue Removed Temporarily

CORVALLIS, Ore. — A familiar statue in front of the Corvallis Public Library is temporarily being stored.

The statue, called “Story Time,” is of a boy and a girl reading a book.

Around the statue was a planter box that’s over a skylight that looks over basement offices. The box was leaking, so it’s getting a waterproof makeover.

“The fact that we have really strong services to children and a lot of statues come and look at the statue when they come into the library, and having the kids read, it’s a symbol of our library,” said Carolyn Rawles-Heiser, Library Director.

The planter box should be repaired within the next few weeks when the statue will re-appear.
