4J Approves New Common Schedule

EUGENE, Ore. — The conformity continues to spread across 4J. Starting next fall, middle schoolers will all be on the same schedule.

The 4J School Board unanimously gave its approval on Wednesday.

Principals across the district had already given their support. They say having all students on same schedule would improve efficiency, equity and increase achievement. Now the district just needs to figure out what’s best.

“A group of teachers, councilors, principals, other administrators from 4J schools will come together to determine what the best schedule for learning and teaching in our schools would be,” said Kerry Delf, 4J spokesperson.

This is in line with what the district is doing at the high school level. Earlier this year the district agreed to phase all high schoolers to the same schedule. Early reports from the first school to make the move have been positive.
