EUGENE, Ore. — The 4J School District has tentatively reached a deal regarding district contracts.
The agreements include nine unpaid furlough days and salary increases halfway through the next contract year. The district says the negotiations also allow room to rehire employees and even lower class sizes.
“We’re very glad we’ve reached an agreement,” said Assistant Director of Labor Relations Khristine Nesbit. “We are looking forward to calling teachers who have been laid off.”
The next step in the process is for the teachers association to vote and approve the contract. The district will also seek comparable financial agreements with classified employees and administrator associations.
