EUGENE, Ore. — Oregonians have the chance to win $1 million. More than 100 locations in Eugene will sell tickets for the 4th of July Raffle.
They’re $10 each, and your odds of winning the big prize is the best of any Oregon lottery game. Only 250,000 tickets will be sold. Even if you don’t hit the jackpot, there are plenty of additional prizes. There are 10 $20,000 prizes and 100 $100 prizes. This is the 13th Oregon State Raffle and this year there’s a special treat for those who get their tickets early.
“For the first 4,000 tickets sold, you can get a free Megabucks ticket and that jackpot starts at $1 million. It grows, so who knows, by the time the drawing happens it could be $2 to $3 million,” says Chuck Baumann with the Oregon State Lottery.
The majority of profits from sales goes to Oregon public schools, about 57 percent. Economic development is the next largest, and then state parks and natural resources.
All 12 raffles before this one have sold out in an average of 28 days. Tickets go on sale Sunday at 5 a.m. all over the state.
