EUGENE, Ore. — As part of KEZI’s 50th annivesary and in honor of Veterans Day, we thought it would be appropriate to feature the story of a man who has been a longtime supporter of our fighting men and women.
We’re talking about former Eugene Mayor Jim Torrey.
Torrey served two terms, ending in 2004.
His term in office was marked by controversy.
There were turf battles over a proposed West Eugene Parkway and over handicap access to the new federal courthouse.
But there were also projects that we can all look to with pride.
