EUGENE, Ore. — We continue our look back at the past 50 years of KEZI 9 News with an appreciation of a man with a towering reputation: Ken Kesey.
Kesey was more than the author of classics like One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Sometimes a Great Notion.
He was also a self-described “merry prankster”.
In the 1960s, he famously experimented with LSD when it was legal, and yet he lived the life of a gentleman in every sense of the word.
He was our Hemingway — a man who lived an outsized life in an outsized place.
And in 1987, he sat down with KEZI for a rare interview.
