Layoffs at Allied Specialty Vehicles

Harrisburg plantUPDATE: KEZI 9 News confirmed with an employee at the company that 71 permanent and 57 temporary employees were laid off.

HARRISBURG, Ore. — About 75 people received layoff notices at Allied Specialty Vehicles, the former Monaco plant.

This is information given to us by a person whose spouse works there.

We’re told employees were surprised by the news Monday morning.¬†When they showed up for work, they were instead told to go home.

We’re told employees were given a couple of months severance pay in addition to vacation pay.

Allied Specialty Vehicles released a statement regarding the closure of its “small towable recreational vehicle business.”

    Kind of ironic that the towable plant was getting enough orders to keep them going and the Monaco Coach plant in Indiana couldn’t keep their employees working. I think their statement is a lie, and they just want this line off the market. Oh by the way, the Indiana plant was given the same surprise this morning!
