90s Are Back, T-Storms As Well

Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:

Nice to see temperatures back down into the mid to low 80s today, however, don’t get used to it, because the hot stuff is on the way for the end of the weekend and a chance for some afternoon thunderstorms.

Highs over the next couple of days will feel the cooler air and only top out in the low to mid 80s. The coast will be more cloudy than sunny with highs in the 60s. Folks headed to this year’s Scandanavian Festival in Junction City should see a great forecast with sunshine and temps not too hot.  This weekend, another low develops off the California coast and start to move inland.  The southerly flow will pull up more monsoonal moisture, heating it up and creating thunderstorms across the mountains mainly Sunday through early next week.

High pressure grabs hold again of the forecast next week and we’re likely heading back into the low 90s, sunny and dry. The valleys may also see a chance for some isolated afternoon thunderstorms on Monday and again on Tuesday and likely seeing leftover showers each evening as the storms move through. Late week, things turn hot again back into the 90s heading into next weekend.

Have a great weekend!
