In this position, the right person will be expected to deliver daily newscasts in a professional manner, as well as, assist in the producing of those newscasts. They will be expected to enterprise content on a daily basis. The person will also be able to shoot, edit, and write stories for multiple platforms to include television, digital and social media. Live reporting in the field and studio is a must. This position will serve as a representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions.

1-3 years’ experience preferred. Ability to speak Spanish a plus. Must have a clean driving record. A background check and pre-employment drug screen is required.

Master Control/Technical Media Producer (TMP), part-time

The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, and FCC logs, & ingesting daily programming & commercials.

DESCRIPTION:     The TMP is responsible for directing live or pre-recorded productions as assigned, monitoring on-air streams, and FCC logs, & ingesting daily programming & commercials.  Regular assignments will involve editing video for newscasts, directing miscellaneous station productions & various elements for the web channel.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    Operation of Ross Overdrive automation (including robotic cameras, audio console, & production video switcher), Harris automation, graphics, Adobe Photoshop & all supporting equipment in Production/Master Control; including ability to effectively perform at the following:  commercial/promo ingesting, satellite operation, program ingesting/segmenting, & a working knowledge of web production.  Operation of Edius editing software, and studio teleprompter. Daily care & maintenance of equipment & studio.  Work closely with all departments to meet daily demands.  Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:   Master Control and production assistant experience.  Experience with production automation system like Ross Overdrive, great communication & people skills, ability to multitask under time sensitive deadlines, strong technical & computer skills, flexibility with scheduling & job assignments, understanding of FCC program logs & all FCC broadcast regulations.  Willingness to learn new hardware and software.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:   This is a part-time position; rate of pay is hourly.

The right person is one who can produce weather content that is urgent, impactful, interesting and understandable. KEZI has the latest technology to help you tell the weather story to viewers utilizing WSI Max Storm system, including MAX Reality and MAX Traffic. Knowledge of this system is preferred. If you are used to doing boring weather casts, no need to apply. Our meteorologists provide focused, urgent weather forecasts that make an impact on our viewer’s day. This content is not only produced for television, but digital and social media as well.

A bachelor’s degree in meteorology is preferred along with 1-3 years television experience. Strong preference will be given to candidates with AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal. Must have a clean driving record. A background check and pre-employment drug screen are required.

Overseeing sportscasts and sports specials in all phases of production.  Serving as a public representative of KEZI 9 News at various community functions.  Other duties as assigned by the Sports Director, News Director or General Manager.
