EUGENE, Ore. — Eugene Police responded to a car accident that damaged three homes, fences and a natural gas line. Eugene Police said a 1999 Lexus, stolen from Springfield, was driving south down Echo Hollow Road at high speeds when it crossed Royal Avenue, through a driveway, fences, a pasture and eventually stopped on Nebraska Street.
Witnesses said the suspect left the car and ran on foot through the neighborhood. Police have not been able to find him since.
A gas leak caused a few home evacuations nearby. Northwest Natural Gas responded and residents have returned to their homes. The streets in the area of Royal Avenue and Echo Hollow Road but are now reopened.
