Americana Chart-topper Mary Gauthier IN CONCERT!

A new spring concert series with nationally-renowned touring artists continues Friday, March 22 on a spectacular note — “An Evening with Mary Gauthier.” Doors open at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 show. Refreshments available. Tickets $15, with advance tickets $12 at Absolute Sound & Music (2210 NW Stewart Pkwy) and While Away Books (932 W. Harvard). A $2 discount is offered seniors (62+) and children (12 & under).

Louisiana native-turned-Nashville resident Mary Gauthier’s songs have earned praise from Bob Dylan & Tom Waits, & been recorded by Jimmy Buffett, Blake Shelton, Boy George & many others. While Gauthier (pronounced Go-SHAY) comes off as a practical, no-nonsense woman, her songs are full of emotional punch. From fear & loneliness of an escape-seeking trajectory, her songwriting & sobriety (since age 35) have given her a steady flight path. Gauthier’s six albums have received countless accolades. In 2005, after releasing “Mercy Now,” she was recognized as the Americana Music Association’s New/Emerging Artist of the Year. Her 2011 album “The Foundling” was named the No. 3 Record of the Year by the L.A. Times. Gauthier is now touring her newly released “Live at Blue Rock,” recorded at a concert in Wimberley, TX, outside of Austin.
