Park managers say a slash in the city’s maintenance budget has left the park looking unkempt.
The grass doesn’t get mowed as often, the path needs more gravel, and crews need help pulling weeds and painting picnic tables.
“A lot of people that use this place see that. They are calling, they are asking so we’re deciding to respond by asking the community to meet us half way. We’ll bring the gravel, we’ve got big piles of it around,” said Carrie Karl, Eugene Park Stewards.
Fifty volunteers are needed to help with these multiple projects Saturday, Nov. 3. Cleanup is from 9 a.m. to noon.
