SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — The woman accused of hitting a 12-year-old boy in a Springfield crosswalk last year will go to trial in March.
Kimberly Ames is facing charges of careless driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Police say she hit Kaleb Oyervides while he was in a Main St. crosswalk in September.
Police Sergeant Mike McCarthy says if convicted, Ames could face community service time, or a higher fine, because Kaleb’s injuries were so serious.
The trial is set for March 19th.
