EUGENE, Ore. — Vandals struck an animal clinic Saturday night and it was all caught on surveillance video.

It all happened at the Santa Clara Animal Hospital on the 2500 block of River Road. The video appears to show two young boys heaving a rock through the front window around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The officer manager says no animals were injured during the incident and nothing was stolen. The cost is estimated to be between $3,000-$5,000.

“Oh they know what they’re doing, and yes they should be punished. This is something wrong. They can’t be doing this to other people,” says hospital manager Patti Liljestrom.

Meanwhile nearby, a Fred Meyer gas sign at Division and River Road was also vandalized. It’s unknown whether the incidents are related.

I agree with the office manager – there is something wrong. Where are their parents? Why were they out so late – what happened to curfews? They should have to pay for the broken window and do community service at the clinic doing cleaning. Supervised of course, which is something they have obviously not had much of.
