Annual OSU Undie Run

Undie RunCORVALLIS, Ore. — Hundreds of people will be making their way to the Battle of the Bands in Corvallis on Friday – in their undies.

Friday is an OSU group’s fourth annual undie run, an event that usually draws in several hundred people. The run falls on the weekend of Battle of the Bands – the group’s final destination.

“When you get hundreds of people running around in their underwear, it’s like the most inclusive environment you can possibly get,” said David Shumway, one of the organizers. “Everyone can be themselves.”

Though most participants are students, everyone is invited to the event.

“It’s public,” said organizer Brent Bybee. “We’re not discriminating against any group. Anyone is welcome – anyone can come if they want and if they are comfortable doing it.”

David Merrick, another organizer, says the run is a fun event that allows people a chance to be silly.

“I’m always surprised by the creativity,” he said. “People always dress up. It’s a lot of fun.”

The event starts at 7 pm. It is free, and runners are meeting at the Peavy fields at the corner of 30th St. and Jefferson Ave.
