EUGENE, Ore. — People all over the world lined up on Friday morning to get their hands on the newest iPhone models, and Eugene was no different. A small group of people was gathered outside the Verizon Store on Coburg Road by about 5 a.m.
The two new models—the iPhone 5s and the 5c—are similar, but there are a few differences. The 5s is made out of metal while the 5c is plastic, which makes it the less expensive option. There are also five different color choices. The 5c has a better front camera for apps like FaceTime, but the 5s is more high-tech, with a faster processor so that graphics run more smoothly. The 5s also has a fingerprint reader that takes the place of a passcode.
The 5c costs $99 with a two-year plan for any carrier except T-Mobile, which charges the full $549 price. Meanwhile, the 5s costs $199 with a two-year contract. T-Mobile charges $649.
