The District Attorney’s Office says Medford Police Department Detectives and FBI agents arrested Alan Leroy McVay at 4:48 p.m. Wednesday without incident in the parking lot at Bobbio’s pizza in the Cascade Shopping Center in White City. He is currently being held at the Jackson County Jail on $1 million bail.
District Attorney Beth Heckert announced today that charges of Arson in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Manufacture of a Destructive Device, Unlawful Possession of a Destructive Device and Criminal Mischief in the First Degree were filed against Alan Leroy McVay for last week’s bombing.
Alan Leroy McVay will be arraigned in Jackson County Circuit Court at 1:45 p.m. Thursday. The case will be presented to the Grand Jury next week. The Jackson County D.A.’s Office says McVay has pending charges unrelated to this incident that are being prosecuted by the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
This is not McVay’s first run-in with the law. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant in April 2012 at a mini-storage on the 5000 block of Table Rock. The firearms and ammunition found were reported stolen from a west Medford residence in October of 2011. During their investigation, information led to the arrest McVay.
