BEND, Ore. — Olympic Decathlon Champion Ashton Eaton will be honored at a parade in Bend this month.
The “Parade of Olympians” is on Sunday, September, 23 at 1 p.m. The parade will start at Bond Street and Franklin Avenue, turn at Oregon Street, and continue down Wall Street to the Tower Theatre.
In addition to Eaton, who graduated from Bend’s Mountain View High School, parade organizers say other Central Oregon Olympians, past and present, are expected to be there as well.
Children 10 and under can also take part in a short fun run with Aston from the Tower Theatre down Wall Street. No registration is required. After the run, Ashton will sign autographs at the Tower Theater.

I didn’t see this televised today. Did the parade actually occur today? My daughter was downtown and didn’t see a large crowd which I find surprising.
