Attempted Child Abduction in Creswell

3-3 sheriff's office scamCRESWELL, Ore. — Police are warning students and staff at Creswell Middle School about an attempted child abduction.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Tuesday at about 2:30 p.m. on South 7th and Barber Drive.

The student says he was walking home, when a man approached him and told him to get into his vehicle and his mother told him to pick him up. The boy ran away and told his mom what happened.

The man was a white male, about 36 years old, wearing a baseball cap and red jacket.

The vehicle was a four-door SUV, possibly a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Explorer that was grey with green tint.
