Chief Meteorologist Justin Stapleton‘s Daily Forecast Discussion:
What a change in the weather today! Just about everywhere in Western Oregon saw temps chopped back by 20 degrees or more and highs today only in the 60s and 70s. Tonight, the ocean air is back, the marine layer is back as well for the coast overnight tonight and likely the inland valleys as well. Lows tonight will fall off into the mid to upper 40s.
Saturday the high pressure ridge will have broken down and an approaching storm will send bands of rain across the state, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Duck fans should stay dry for most if not all of Saturday’s Spring Game, kicking off at 11am. Beaver fans may not be as lucky, with a 1:00pm kickoff, the Spring Showcase may end with some light showers. Otherwise, rain chances pick up in the evening and on and off all day Sunday. Highs will continue to fall, into the upper 50s and low 60s.
Showers will be back for Monday and Tuesday, with more spotty activity later in the week. The major change will be a return to more spring-like weather with highs in the low 60s and travelers over the Cascades Passes will encounter some slushy snow at times Sunday through Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!
