METEOROLOGIST MELISSA FREY’S FORECAST DISCUSSION:
After a weekend of record breaking heat, it’s back to “normal” for the work week.
Eugene hit 101 on Saturday, the highest temperature we had seen in two years. Medford was the hottest in the state at 107 and Corvallis was the hottest in the valley at 104. Temperatures dropped almost 10 degrees Sunday, which was still warm at 92 degrees.
The off shore flow that brought in the heat has done a 180, and it’s back to on-shore flow for all off western Oregon. This means the pattern of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine is back. There will be no major changes this week to the atmospheric flow, which means this pattern will continue all week. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s for the valley, mid 60s for the coast and mid to upper 80s for the Umpqua Basin.
Have a great Monday!
