LEBANON, Ore. – Lebanon Fire Crews responded to a structure fire caused by an out-of-control backyard burn Tuesday.
Around 2 p.m. crews responded to a possible house fire in the 900 block of West Isabella Street. When they arrived, firefighters found the backyard and a utility shed on fire. The fire was quickly spreading towards the house and neighboring properties. Firefighters were able to quickly control the fire and no other damage was done.
Fire crews say the fire was caused by unauthorized burning in a burn barrel. Damage was estimated around $5,000.
The Lebanon Fire Department says all backyard burning is prohibited due to the extreme fire danger.
