EUGENE, Ore. — Tuesday is the deadline for voters to fix their ballots.
In the May primary elections, there were two close commissioner races. The Lane County Elections Office says hundreds of ballots are still under review because they were either unsigned or the signature didn’t match the voter registration form.
On Friday, there were 495 unresolved ballots. The affected voters have been notified to fix the mistake. Tuesday is the last day for them to do so, or their votes won’t count.
Resolving these ballots won’t affect the outcomes of the election, but they could force a November runoff in two commissioner races. It could affect the West Lane Commissioner race between incumbent Jay Bozievich and Dawn Lesley and the East Lane Commissioner race between incumbent Faye Stewart and Kevin Matthews.
