County board of election offices started processing ballots early Tuesday morning. They are also handling questions and errors, like voters not signing their ballots. If that happens, you’ll receive a postcard and then have ten days to come to your board of elections office to sign it.
Another big question is last-minute voters with address changes.
“For anyone registered in Oregon, active and inactive, they have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to give us information and still receive a ballot,” said Cheryl Betschart, Lane County Clerk.
Here are the latest ballot return totals as of Tuesday morning: Lane County is at 60 percent, Douglas County has 67 percent, Benton County at 63 percent, Coos County at 67 percent and Linn County has 59 percent.
Elections officials are expecting an 80-90 percent voter turnout.
