EUGENE, Ore. – Changes for motorists start Wednesday on the Beltline Highway.
The adaptive ramp meter system starts Wednesday afternoon for the Green Acres Road and Coburg Road westbound on-ramps. The ramp meters will operate every weekday afternoon from approximately 3-6:45 p.m.
The eastbound River Road and River Avenue metered on-ramps will be activated Thursday morning. These two meters will operate every weekday morning from approximately 6:30-9:30 a.m.
The adaptive ramp meters represent a short-term, low cost solution to reduce traffic delays and improve safety. The $2 million Intelligent Transportation System was funded by the 2009 Oregon Jobs and Transportation Act, approved by the Oregon Legislature.
