BEND, Ore. — The Bend Police Department hopes a crash that happened Tuesday night reminds people to have a designated driver.
Officers say one of their own was hurt when Tina Rae Taylor, 35, of Bend, hit a patrol car on the northbound lanes Bend Parkway. The patrol car was parked and the officer was sitting inside of his car after conducting a traffic stop when it hit from behind. Officers say Taylor was intoxicated.
The officer went to the hospital for minor injuries.
Taylor was not hurt and police booked her in the Deschutes County Jail for DUII, third-degree assault and reckless driving.
Bend Police says with Super Bowl weekend coming up, everyone should plan ahead so they don’t put themselves or other drivers at risk.
