BEND, Ore. — BendBroadband has agreed to buy the Chambers Cable System, according to an announcement released Wednesday.
This will affect residents in Sunriver, Crosswater and the surrounding areas. BendBroadband says it will bring a major technological upgrade to residents and visitors in the Sunriver area, and also migrate Chambers Cable residential and business customers to BendBroadband’s digital cable TV and Internet services.
“Today’s announcement is an important step toward the next generation communications and entertainment system that the community deserves. BendBroadband’s plans align very well with the long term vision that Chambers Cable and Sunriver have been working toward,” said Scott Chambers, CEO of Chambers Communications.
Amy Tykeson, CEO of BendBroadband, says Chambers Cable employees will join BendBroadband.
The companies expect the transaction to close on July 31.
