Benton County Sheriff Sworn In

CORVALLIS, Ore. — There’s a new sheriff in town in Benton County.

Sheriff Scott Jackson was sworn in at the Benton County Courthouse Monday.

Jackson has been with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for 18 years. He served as a corrections deputy, lieutenant, and jail commander before being named undersheriff in 2008.

“Very honored, very proud. I spent most of my adult career with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, and it’s a very humbling day and very proud day for me to take the lead,” Jackson said.

Jackson is also a U.S. Army veteran. He replaces Diana Simpson who announced her retirement after 30 years of service to Benton County.
