EUGENE, Ore. — The Bier Stein closed its doors on East 11th Avenue but opened up new ones at a much larger space not too far away.
The new Bier Stein location on Willamette Street has only been open for about two days, but the owners say it’s been filled to the brim each night and as busy as ever.
The old Midtown Building has truly been transformed. The Bier Stein owners took over the building at the end of last year.
While the place was gutted, the owners tried to keep a bit of the building’s history intact. For example, many of the old light fixtures remain.
The new 12,000 square foot space fits nearly five times the number of people than its old spot.
“The response of the community has been overwhelming. I think people were really excited that it opened. It kind of took us by surprise how many people would come on the first couple of days but everyone has been so patient,” said Kristina Measells, The Bier Stein Owner.
The owners say the place will be more than just a bar and restaurant but a classroom as well. They plan to hold beer tasting and pairing classes to educate customers about the many facets of the drink once they have the chance to settle in.
The owners are encouraging folks to come check out the new space whenever they get the chance. They are open every Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and every Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
