Bill Aids Kids in Military Families

Still0317_00002SALEM, Ore. — A new measure could bring some relief to kids in military families who have to move every few years.

Oregon lawmakers say moving around so often brings challenges to the kids, relating to school enrollment and graduating on time.

A bill passed in early March creates certain rules to make sure those students that are disrupted as little as possible when they change schools.

The rules would also apply to children of Oregon National Guard members.

The bill now heads to the governor’s desk.
