(CNN) — BMW has recalled more than a half-million cars in the U.S. due to possible power failure and engine stalling.
Reports say a battery cable that supplies power to the vehicle’s fuse box can wear out and cause problems.
The recall affects BMW’s 1-Series, 3-Series and Z4 models made from 2007 to 2012.
BMW has known about the problem since July 2010. Initially the car company issued a service bulletin instructing dealers how to fix the problem, but later decided to issue a full recall.
