St. Vincent de Paul is behind the project, called Alona Place.
With the new psychiatric hospital being built, Commissioner Faye Stewart says St. Vincent de Paul believes there is going to be a big need for affordable housing.
“This offers affordable housing for employees and workers. Hopefully it’ll keep the cost of housing down and make it affordable for people too, and it meets a definite need in the Junction City area,” said Faye Stewart, District 5-East Lane County Commissioner.
Stewart says the proposal will be back on the table at their meeting on July 8.
