Breast Cancer Healing Tree at Oakway

EUGENE, Ore. — Christmas colors are usually red, green, and maybe gold and silver, but what about pink?

A decorated pine at the Oakway Center is bursting with pink bulbs and ribbons. It’s all put together by the Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation.

The nonprofit’s goal is to make sure clinical trials are filled every year to find a cure.

“As it is right now, literally thousands of breast cancer clinical trials openings go unfilled every year. As long as that continues, what happens in the laboratory stays in the laboratory,” said Brooke Jones, Breast Cancer Warrior Foundation Founder.

In the Oakway lobby you can write someone’s name on a ribbon and an organizer will hang it on the tree.

On Sunday at 2 p.m. everyone is invited to come to the tree for a special ceremony.
