CORVALLIS, Ore.– Investigators say Joel Courtney has pleaded guilty to the 2004 abduction and murder of Brooke Wilberger. Part of the deal made with prosecutors, Courtney had to assist investigators in finding the remains of Wilberger.
The information Courtney gave lead to the discovery the Wilberger’s remains and saved Courtney from the death penalty. As part of the deal, Courtney will serve a life sentence in prison with no possibility of release.
