EUGENE, Ore. — A couple hundred people walked together in Eugene Saturday to raise money for Down syndrome.
Participants took a loop around Amazon Parkway as part of the Buddy Walk. It’s the main fundraiser for the Emerald Family Down Syndrome Network.
This year’s theme was: Expect Me to Succeed and I Will.
“What’s really special, especially if a child is a sibling of someone who experiences Down syndrome, for them they get to see that it’s not all about the diagnosis, it’s about celebration and really coming together,” said Sydney Shook, Emerald Family Down Syndrome Network.
Senator Ron Wyden also attended to walk alongside all the participants.
