EUGENE, Ore. — The largest business incubator in Oregon opened its doors Tuesday morning in downtown Eugene.
On Monday workers put the finishing touches on Eugene Mindworks, a 9,200-square-foot space at Fifth Avenue and Pearl Street that has room for about 45 businesses.
By purchasing a membership, fledgling business owners have access to private offices, along with an open community area.
There’s also a conference room, hi-speed Internet and other amenities.
The founder of Mindworks says there are advantages to working outside the home.
“Not just because it’s lost cost and easy to be part of, but also because of the collaborative nature of the environment,” said Shaylor Murray, Eugene Mindworks founder.
Murray also touts the incubator’s location–in the heart of the downtown market district.
Prices for an individual desk start at $85 a month. Offices start at $475.
