WALTERVILLE, Ore. — A Walterville grocery store in danger of closing up shop will stay open under new ownership.
The C&K Market had announced that it would be closing the store on September 8; but this week, U.S. Market and Cigarettes out of Salem announced that it bought the market.
The store’s manager says he’s glad to see the store staying open, since closing it would have left over 1,000 people without a nearby grocery store. Neighbors say they agree.
“I’m really happy, I’d rather give my business to them then Albertsons or Safeway into town. It’s really super close,” said resident Sunny Anderson.
The store will be renamed Walterville Market; but other than that, customers shouldn’t expect to see many changes.
