Car Crash Closes Franklin Boulevard

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — A crash is blockingĀ Franklin Boulevard one mile south of the intersection with McKenzie Highway, ODOT said.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. Monday in the 5400 block of Franklin Boulevard. The Springfield police and fire departments responded.

It involved two sedans. Two people taken away in ambulances. One was a 22-year-old woman was driving a Honda. She was taken to a nearby hospital with two broken legs and possible head injuries. The other was a man in his 50s who had injured leg.

Police say one driver veered into oncoming traffic, but they haven’t determined which driver that was. Police are asking anyone who saw the crash happen to contact them.

Both lanes of Franklin Boulevard are blocked at this time.
