Car Crashes Into Home

Police-LightsEUGENE, Ore. — A car came crashing into a Eugene family’s home early Friday morning.

No one was hurt. Deputies believe an impaired driver is to blame.

Lane County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home on the corner of Gimpl Hill Road and Bailey Hill Road just after 12:30 a.m. They say people inside the home were asleep when they hear a large crash. When they came outside, they saw a car flipped on its side and sticking out of their garage.

Deputies say it isn’t considered a problem area for crashes and they believe alcohol was a factor.

“I mean, it’s not so much a sharp curve, it’s just another intersection. He took the turn way too fast and wasn’t able to complete the turn,” says Sergeant Matt Keetle with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

The male driver was taken into custody.
