Car, Truck Crash North of Myrtle Creek

MYRTLE CREEK, Ore. — A car and a commercial truck collided north of Myrtle Creek Wednesday morning, injuring the car’s driver.

The crash happened Wednesday morning at the intersection of Old Highway 99S and the I-5 north off ramp north of Myrtle Creek.

Oregon State Police says a commercial truck driven by a Sutherlin man was exiting the northbound lanes of I-5 at exit 112 when a 2001 Dodge Stratus traveling on Old Highway 99S didn’t stop at a stop sign and drove into the truck’s path. The car was hit on the driver’s side.

Crews extricated the car’s driver, a 17-year-old female from California, and took her to a local hospital with serious injuries. Police say she was not wearing a seat belt. Her passenger was wearing a seat belt and┬áreceived minor injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.
