EUGENE, Ore. — If you’re an animal lover looking for a way to help your four-legged friends, West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue could use your help.
The rescue center is looking for volunteers to help take care of its many cats. You can volunteer to socialize with the kitties, which basically means playing with them, or you can help clean their cages.
The rescue group’s president says that volunteers are needed now more than ever.
“This summer we had probably an extra hundred or so cats, partly due to the closure of the county shelter. So when something like that happens, it impacts the rest of the rescue groups, and we were heavily impacted by that,” said Kate Tryhorn, West Coast Dog and Cat Rescue President.
The rescue particularly needs volunteers on weekends, even if you can only do it once a month.
