CORVALLIS, Ore. — A Corvallis woman will soon have a safe deck and a roof that no longer leaks, thanks to Benton County’s Habitat for Humanity.
Margaret Cummins has fallen on her slippery deck several times and uses pots and pans to catch the rain that falls through the roof of her mobile home. But on Saturday, those worries will be things of the past.
“They’re going to finish my deck, do part of the roof, ” says Cummins. “I live on social security, so it’s just a wonderful, wonderful program.”
Cummins lost the use of her right arm in an accident and is unable to do the repairs on her own. She found out about Habitat’s Home Repair Initiative through the Love in the Name of Christ Call Center.
